FIELD: power industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the power industry and can be used in various kinds of electric power systems, including in the electric power systems of ships. The method for controlling the electric power system includes measuring the frequency of synchronized generators, as well as controlling their frequency, while at the beginning of the synchronization process, the frequency of the generators receiving the load is set below the nominal, and the frequency of the unloaded generators is set above the nominal, after which their frequency is controlled in such a way that the frequency of the generators is continuous approaches the nominal, then the generators are switched on for parallel operation at the moment of coincidence of their phases and equality of frequencies. The proposed solution solves the task of improving the synchronization process of electricity sources as part of an electric power system, which is achieved by a special algorithm for controlling the frequency (rotation speed) regulators of the primary heat engines of the sources.
EFFECT: reduction of equalizing currents when connecting sources in parallel for load transfer or long-term parallel operation.
