FIELD: textile engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method involves eliminating modification of weft thread, in particular, eliminating harmful changing of weft thread structure commonly occurring on utilization of known process of pneumatic compacting in mixing pipe of main blowing nozzle, by restricting length of weft thread which may latter be delivered into wastes; omitting weft thread holding process, said process being commonly effectuated by means of air stream. According to invention, portion of weft thread remained in main blowing nozzle is clamped behind injector of main blowing nozzle in the course of laying said weft thread by means of clamping device; weft thread length laid into aperture is clamped by closing said aperture; weft thread length remained between clamping device and clamped part at laying side is subjected to compaction procedure on rotation of main shaft of weaving machine through predetermined angle.
EFFECT: improved quality of weft thread by eliminating the possibility of harmful changing of weft thread structure.
