FIELD: metallurgy, namely heat treatment of intermetallide alloys with thermo-elastic martensite conversion, possibly production of materials with high-temperature memory shape memory effect.

SUBSTANCE: method for heat treatment of nickel mono-aluminide base alloy with high-temperature shape memory effect comprises steps of homogenization annealing at temperature 1200 - 1350°C and martensite quenching realized by crystallization from melt at cooling rate 104 - 106 °/s. After martensite quenching, rapid heating is performed in addition at rate more than 1°/s till temperature 400 - 500°C and also isothermal soaking for 30 - 360 min and cooling till 20°C at rate no less than 1°/s are performed. Invention provides improved thermal stability of alloy in temperature range 250 - 350°C.

EFFECT: increased ductility and thermal stability of alloy.
