DEVICE FOR CLEANING EXHAUST CASES OF DIESEL ENGINES FROM SOOT Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC F01N3/35 

FIELD: mechanical engineering; diesel engines.

SUBSTANCE: proposed device for cleaning exhaust gases of diesel engine from soot has rotary chamber with inlet and outlet branch pipes, swirler and soot collector with electric heating spiral, oxidation and reduction units with catalytic afterburner, axial-flow fan with drive through bevel gear reduction by dc motor operated by switch. Gear reduction unit has waste gases fairing, and soot collector is connected by pipelines to remove soot combustion products with pipe arranged in outlet branch pipe. Device contains also electromechanical heating control system of electric heating spiral of soot collector and control of evacuation of soot combustion products from soot collector into outlet branch pipe. Heating control system includes light source and photoresistor, both installed in inlet branch pipe, photoresistor being connected by electric circuit through control unit with electromagnet switching on electric heating spiral in soot collector and electromagnet to control removal of soot combustion products from soot collector.

EFFECT: improved efficiency of cleaning of diesel engine exhaust gases from soot, reduced consumption of fuel and increased diesel engine power output and provision of reliable operation of diesel engine.
