FIELD: mechanical engineering; exhaust gas systems of diesel engines. SUBSTANCE: proposed exhaust gas filter has rotary chamber with inlet and outlet branch pipes which accommodates swirler, soot trap and filtering element arranged length wise the chamber. Soot trap being heat insulator is made of ceramic maze with fitted-in electric heater. Ceramic maze is limited by wall of filter housing and perforated cylinder. Filtering element is made in form of pack consisting of alternating corrugated and flat layers with catalytic coating, flat layers being made of metal wire maze limited by heat resistant gauze. Moreover, filtering element is limited in its front part by heat resistant gauze and in rear part by disk with holes opposite to flat layers. Invention makes it possible to materially reduced heat and gas dynamic losses owing to arrangement of soot trap lengthwise the rotary chamber and thus increase efficiency of catalytic afterburning of incompletely combusted products in filtering element. Use of electric heater supplied from 220 V circuit makes it possible to periodically recover soot accumulated in soot trap without disassembling the filter.
