FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: seal comprises pole member mounted on the face from the high-pressure side and ring chamber for magnetic fluid that abuts against the space to be sealed. The chamber is predominantly made of a diamagnetic material when the shaft is vertical and a magnetic material when the shaft is horizontal.
EFFECT: simplified structure.
