FIELD: waste water treatment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to treatment of hard-to-decompose oil-containing waste waters and can find application in manufacturing industry, mechanical engineering, and other industry fields, where stable emulsions of oils, fats, and petroleum products are formed. Waste water is treated by direct electric current having density 50 to 1000 A/m2 using insoluble anodes. Anode space is filled with metal oxide powder, wherein metal is selected from group consisting of iron, zinc, cobalt, zirconium, and mixtures thereof, all being taken in amounts corresponding to 0.5 to 10 g powder per 1 cm2 anode area.
EFFECT: enhanced treatment efficiency and reduced consumption of sheet iron.
