FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an improved method for synthesis of 2,4,6-triaminotoluene as stable sulfate or phosphate. Method involves hydrogenation of 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene with hydrogen on palladium catalyst in an organic solvent medium wherein the hydrogenation reaction of 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene is carried out under atmosphere pressure with addition of activated carbon in the amount 2-10% of mass of 2,4,6-tyrinitrotoluene and isolation of 2,4,6-triaminotoluene. For reduction of 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene catalyst of preceding reduction reaction is used with addition of 2-10% of fresh catalyst. Method allows decreasing amount of used catalyst and increasing yield of the end substance.
EFFECT: improved method of synthesis.
