FIELD: rocketry; solid-propellant rocket engines with inserted multigrain powder charges.
SUBSTANCE: proposed solid-propellant rocket engine has combustion chamber with inserted powder charge and multi-nozzle unit, bottom and nozzle diaphragms and near-bottom cavity with passage for gas efflux from near-bottom cavity. One nozzle is mounted in center of nozzle unit. Gas efflux passage is made in form of tube connecting the near-bottom cavity with central nozzle.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of holding the inserted charge in combustion chamber; reduced mass of engine; enhanced density of charging.
