FIELD: commercial deer breeding, in particular, methods and technique for entrapment of wild reindeer in taiga and mountain taiga zones.

SUBSTANCE: method involves using apparatus including round or oval-shaped rod fencing having length of circle of 200-500 m depending on supposed number of deer to be entrapped, and height of fence not in the excess of 2.0-2.2 m. Fencing includes three catches arranged so as to utilize landscape peculiarities to maximum extent, and single outlet gate. Wedge-shaped rod catches are defined by intersecting rod ends. Apex third part of rod is sharpened to form cone for imparting flexibility thereto. 5-7 domestic reindeer females are settled into apparatus as bait for wild reindeer. Entrapment is carried out during wild reindeer heat period in order to entrap reindeer for zoos, for performing investigation works, and also for improving reproductive qualities of domestic reindeer.

EFFECT: increased efficiency of method and apparatus allowing damage to animals to be reduced.
