FIELD: railway transport.

SUBSTANCE: proposed wheelset drive contains traction electric motor installed on sprung part of running gear, hollow shaft enclosing axle of wheelset and connected by elastic couplings with bushing rotated by traction motor, and with wheelset. Each coupling has even number of trunnions 10 and 13, half of which belongs to each coupling member. Rubber shock absorbers 14 are installed, in compressed state, between trunnions over circumference. Each shock absorber thrust by one side against trunnion of one coupling member, and by other side against trunnion of other coupling member. Rubber shock absorber can be made multiply and reinforced by metal members cured to rubber. Rubber shock absorber can be made hollow, being coupled with trunnions through washers rigidly connected to trunnions by bolts.

EFFECT: simplified design, improved reliability, reduced overall dimensions of wheels drive.
