FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railroad transport and can be used as traction drive for locomotives with motors, including induction motors, at higher speeds. Locomotive traction drive comprises traction motor mounted at bogie frame, toothed belt, drive toothed pulley fitted on traction motor shaft and driven toothed pulley engaged via toothed belt with drive pulley and mounted axle running in the bogie axle boa roller bearings. Drive toothed pulley is fitted on mounted axle shaft. Said motor is mounted at bogie frame on lateral surface of one side in two spherical bearings, their axes being parallel with motor lengthwise axis. On opposite side, it runs in one spherical bearing at motor lateral side central part to allow axial location of toothed pulleys, toothed belt tension adjustment and motor lengthwise axis turn relative to mounted axle so that pulley teeth are set parallel at rated axial load at said teeth by resilient compensators.

EFFECT: simplified design, higher reliability.
