FIELD: geophysics, possible use during finding, survey and extraction of mineral resource for determining position of productive formations in rocks, opened by a well.
SUBSTANCE: in accordance to method, thermal diagram is recorded in a well. Using wavelet analysis method, spatial periodic components of temperature oscillations are selected from thermal diagram. Position of productive formation in cross-section is determined based on sharp increase of amplitude of short period component of temperature oscillations at interval of depths being researched. Method is used for producing valid information at early stages of finding and survey of mineral resources without extraction and analysis of core.
EFFECT: increased information capacity and efficiency of mineral resource finding operations, increased speed of productive formation position determining process, including early stages of finding and surveying operations and in wells of various type - with open borehole, with non-perforated and/or perforated column and increased productiveness of labor when finding, surveying and extracting mineral resources.
