FIELD: rock-cutting tools, particularly roller bits and drill heads for well drilling.
SUBSTANCE: bearing assembly seal comprises elastic ring of round cross-section installed to cooperate with cylindrical cutter surface. The elastic ring is fitted in groove made in pin collar with predetermined radial tightness. The groove has rectangular cross-section having width of 0.57-0.66 of diameter defined by elastic ring cross-section provided with flat faces located on ring sides. The flat faces have constant widths and taper at 60-80° angle. The flat faces have varying depths and formed so that cavities are created between elastic ring and depression bottom from pin top and bottom. The cavities are communicated with each other through equalizing channel drilled in pin and with ambient atmosphere trough boring exiting from trailing leg edge to equalizing channel.
EFFECT: increased service life of seal and bearing assembly as a whole at increased drill bit rotation speed in the case of cutter offset with respect to pin caused by bearing wear.
