APPARATUS FOR REMOVING INTERNAL FLASH IN STRAIGHT-SEAM ELECTRICALLY WELDED TUBES Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC B21C37/08 

FIELD: production of straight-seam electrically welded tubes, possibly apparatuses for removing internal flash in lengthwise welded, mainly large-diameter tubes.

SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes housing rigidly joined with tie rod; cutter head; supporting roller mounted in base of housing; restricting rollers; mechanism for pressing cutter having hydraulic cylinder and lever engaged with rod of hydraulic cylinder. Mechanism for pressing cutter is provided with two-arm balancer mounted with possibility of rotation by means of articulation joint assembly on end of lever jointly coupled with housing. Cutter head is provided at least with three radially arranged cutters and it is mounted onto two-arm balancer between restricting rollers. Rod is joined with lever through hinge and through said hinge it acts upon two-arm balancer for pressing cutter head and cutter to tube. Mechanism for rotating cutter head is in the form of rack transmission having gear wheel rigidly mounted on lengthwise axis of cutter head and engaged with rack through second hydraulic cylinder. Member for locking position of cutter head axle is in the form of pressing shoes and third hydraulic cylinder joined through connecting rod with axle.

EFFECT: increased time period of cutter head operation due to possibility of changing cutters without interrupting welding process and process for removing flash.
