FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention may be used for trimming strips in contact butt welding performed at special welding machines used for enlargement of reels and continuous operation of metallurgical plants. Trimmer comprises driven carriage and two driven levers articulated therewith. Cutter is secured on every lever and axle with bearing roll arranged nearby cutter is arranged to get in contact with strips to be cleaned. Electrode cleaning elements are arranged on said axles. Air cylinder with two pistons are arranged on every lever, behind said bearing roll. One of said pistons is coupled via tie rod with electrode cleaning elements. Second, spring-loaded piston, is arranged to interact with locking head of cylinder fitted in holder of trimmer lever and containing silicon lubricant to be applied on cleaned surface of electrodes.

EFFECT: higher quality, better servicing.
