FIELD: rocketry.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method relates to manufacture of cover with central hole to protect cone assembled of set sectors and to form inner annular groove in channel of composite solid-propellant charge. Cover consists of internal and external halves, taper ring and end face spherical plate. End face spherical plate is formed by layer of cotton cloth and unvulcanized calendared rubber compressed by winding with synthetic or cotton taper ring are formed by placing sheet cotton cloth and unvulcanized calendared rubber between steel sheets, forming and vulcanizing in press. Internal and external cover halves and taper ring are cut out of blanks, thus formed, and are glued together leaving surfaces of mounting butts free. Then internal and external cover halves, end face spherical plate and taper ring are assembled on cone in rocket engine body, and mounting butts are glued.
EFFECT: prevention of possibility of ignition and explosion of composite solid propellant charge due to friction at taking out of sectors after solidification of propellant.
