FIELD: the invention refers to measuring technique.

SUBSTANCE: the invention may be used in an automobile equipped with an injector engine with electronic control and provided with an information system with a mini-computer, a digital indicator, a sensor of the level in the fuel tank and a speed sensor. The current consumption out of the fuel tank is measured at different loadings on the engine. The fuel tank is calibrated on different loading regimes on the engine according to the volume of fuel corresponding to the position of the level sensor. The current consumption of fuel is measured on productivity of a sprayer and the time of its opening. The remains of the fuel in the fuel tank is calculated and compared with the volume of the fuel received at calibration of the fuel tank with the measured remains of fuel. By deviations of these volumes and according to the result of comparison of current time of the cycle feeding on idle revolutions of the engine with the time of the cycle feeding on idle revolutions of the completely warmed-up engine one can judge about the technical condition of the fuel system of the engine.

EFFECT: The invention provides additional control of technical condition of an injector engine according the volume of consumed fuel.
