FIELD: gas-plasma technology; low-temperature plasmatron electrode manufacture.
SUBSTANCE: heat conductance of plasmatron is enhanced and temperature of its surface is reduced due to cooling channel provided in electrode area opposing its working surface; this electrode is built of two layers of different thermal properties; for producing arc at electrode butt-end its outer perimeter is covered with heat-conducting layer and for arcing on electrode generatrix side, its outer perimeter is covered with heat-resistant layer; heat-resistant layer radius is chosen within definite range.
EFFECT: enhanced service life of electrode, reduced expenses in plasmatron operation.
