METHOD FOR EVALUATING LASER UVULOPLASTY APPLICATION RESULTS IN PATIENTS SUBJECTED TO SNORE PHENOMENA Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC A61B5/55

Abstract RU 2301620 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: method involves carrying out magnetic resonance tomography examination 2 months before and after laser uvuloplastic repair. Soft palate, tongue, nasopharynx, oropharynx, laryngopharynx volume is determined, minimum area of the upper respiratory paths in cross-section during the magnetic resonance tomography examination. These parameters are compared to norm volume parameters which are equal to 5145.5-5715.7 mm3 for soft palate; 50745.7-51296.1 mm3 for tongue, 8517.7-7943.1 mm3 for nasopharynx, 1367.8-1989.2 mm3 for oropharynx, 8460.9-9064.7 mm3 for laryngopharynx, 97.9-123.5 mm2 for the minimum area of upper respiratory paths in cross-section. The parameters received in 2 months after laser uvuloplastic repair approaching to norm relative to the parameters received before laser uvuloplastic repair, operation results are evaluated as positive.

EFFECT: high accuracy in evaluating laser uvuloplastic treatment results.
