FIELD: general engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to variable-rigidity suspensions of vehicles. Proposed variable-rigidity suspension has elastic member and balancer hinge-connected with lever moving by means of roller secured on lever over surface of cam with designed profile of support surface providing preset optimum characteristics of suspension with great number of different values of rigidity coefficient. Suspension implements nonlinear characteristic with minimum values of coefficient of rigidity at initial strokes of wheels at f<0,05 m and designed increase of rigidity coefficient at wheel stroke exceeding f>0,05 m. Elastic metal member is essentially compression spring transmitting force to vehicle body and secured by one on lever. Surface of cam with designed profile of support surface and part of lever with roller can be made in closed housing protecting mechanism from abrasive action of dust and dirt.
EFFECT: improved quality of vehicle spring owing to reduction of action of high-frequency vibration accelerations onto driver.
