FIELD: treatment of low- and medium-carbon alloyed steels.
SUBSTANCE: steel rod whose microstructure has grains consisting of martensite plates alternating with thin films made from stabilized austenite is subjected to cold strain. Due to high density of dislocation in structure and tendency of strain stresses to move between martensite and austenite phases, cold strain imparts unique mechanical properties including tensile strength without intermediate heat treatment of steel between cogging procedure by cold treatment.
EFFECT: increased breaking strength.
