FIELD: mechanical engineering; turbine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to design of noncontact seals of labyrinth type of steam turbine stages and it can be used at designing and modification of seals of medium-and low-pressure cylinders of steam turbines, including those operating in steam-gas plants. According to invention, sealing plates are made with L-shaped or U-shaped profile in section. Working section of sealing plate is made at angle located initially within 30 and 45° with possibility of change up to 90°. Sealing plates are installed with initial clearance within 1.1-2.2 mm and are made of alloy of intermetallic compounds featuring memorized shape effect at change of temperature. Such seal excludes rubbing of rotor and brings to minimum wear of sealing elements which considerably reduced amount of leaks of working medium, increases overhaul period of seal and materially decreases service expenses.
EFFECT: reduced wear and leaks of working medium.
