FIELD: nuclear power production plants, working of tubular articles for canal nuclear reactors.
SUBSTANCE: process comprises steps of rotating tube and introducing cutting tool into it. In order to minimize metal breaking at working irregularities of welded seam surface and to provide desired surface roughness degree, attachment in the form of sleeve is used. In said sleeve shaft is mounted in bearing assemblies. Plate designed for mounting in lathe rest is secured to lateral surface of sleeve. Cutting tool is in the form of cylindrical milling cutter sharpened along gently sloping arc and mounted in one end of said shaft. Apparatus to be joined with shaft of electric motor mounted in separate plate used for securing to rest of lathe is mounted on opposite end of said shaft. Milling cutter is mounted until coincidence of its cross symmetry axis with symmetry axis of welded seam. Then milling cutter is moved till it touches mostly protruded inside portion of welded seam and turning on rotation of milling cutter from electric motor for moving milling cutter in cross direction relative to tube.
EFFECT: improved quality of worked surface of tube welded seams.
