FIELD: manufacturing processes in machine engineering, namely methods finishing and strengthening blanks in the form of screw or smooth shafts, stepped shaft or eccentric shaft.

SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of using elastic tool having body with openings on its ends for screwing in flanges into them and deforming members in the form of turns of helical cylindrical spring. Spring turns are arranged across blank. Spring is coiled clockwise, it embraces blank and is rigidly secured by its end portions to flanges. Elastic tool is adjusted according to predetermined effort of strengthening working by twisting spring due to rotation of flanges and fixation of their circumference position. Blank is imparted to rotation and tool is imparted to lengthwise motion.

EFFECT: enlarged manufacturing possibilities, enhanced efficiency, improved hardness of worked surface, lowered cost price of the whole process.
