FIELD: technology for researching rocks in horizontal well by means of multi-component logging device, possible use for determining position of adjacent layer relatively to well and distance from well to limit between two layers of rock or to limit between liquid substances.

SUBSTANCE: in given layer of mining rock, into drilling well, longitudinal axis of which is practically parallel to the limit of aforementioned layer, logging device is inserted. Several multi-component measurements of specific electric resistance are performed, results of which characterize the target parameter. Results of multi-component measurements are processed and on their basis, target parameter is determined.

EFFECT: drilling direction is maintained strictly in accordance to predetermined trajectory or in process of whole well drilling it is possible to keep distance from the well shaft to the limit between substances constant, in particular, up to limit between oil and water.
