FIELD: methods and devices for reproducing record carriers, where input of digital code is only required once, though input of digital code is required both for reproduction of directory and play list.

SUBSTANCE: in accordance to invention, a set of directories is formed on a disk. One directory has DVR-protect-flag flag, set for controlling reproduction of information in directory. Also play list, which is a part of information inside the directory, has playback-control-flag flag, set for controlling its playback. In case, when DVR-protect-flag equals 1, playback is permitted, only when correct digital code is inputted. In case when both DVR-protect-flag and playback-control-flag are equal to 1, input of digital code for playback-control-flag is skipped, when a correct digital code has already been inputted for DVR-protect-flag.

EFFECT: increased efficiency.
