SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicinal agents used in prophylaxis and treatment of functional or stress-induced disturbances arising at extreme effects, and can be used as an agent possessing stress-protective effect. Invention proposes peptide glutamyl-aspartyl-glycine of the general formula: H-Glu-Asp-Gly-OH of the sequence 1 [SEQ IN NO:1] possessing stress-protective effect. Also, invention proposes a pharmaceutical composition comprising the effective amount of peptide glutamyl-aspartyl-glycine of the general formula: H-Glu-Asp-Gly-OH of the sequence 1 [SEQ ID NO:1] as an active substance, and pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. Also, invention proposes a method for prophylaxis and/or treatment of functional or stress-induced disturbances arising at extreme effects and involving administration to a patient the pharmaceutical composition comprising the effective amount of peptide glutamyl-aspartyl-glycine of the general formula: H-Glu-Asp-Gly-OH of the sequence 1 [SEQ ID NO:1] as an active substance in the dose 0.01-100 mcg/kg of body mass for at least once per a day for period necessary for achievement of the therapeutic effect. Also, invention discloses the stress-protective effect of peptide H-Glu-Asp-Gly-OH, its using for preparing a pharmaceutical composition, and using this composition provides regulation of biogenic amines level in cortex brain and blood, influence on the expression c-fos gene in different regions of brain and reducing activity of blood enkephalinases resulting to the stress-protective effect.
