SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicinal agents used in treatment of diseases, traumas and results of traumas in the central nervous system and can be used as an agent stimulating regeneration of neurons. Invention proposes a pharmaceutical composition stimulating regeneration of neurons and comprising as an active component the effective amount of the peptide glutamyl-aspartyl-arginine of the general formula: H-Glu-Asp-Arg-OH of the sequence 1 [SEQ ID NO:1] and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. Invention proposes the peptide glutamyl-aspartyl-arginine of the general formula: H-Glu-Asp-Arg-OH of the sequence 1 [SEQ ID NO:1] possessing ability to stimulate regeneration of neurons. Invention proposes a method for stimulating regeneration of neurons that involves administration to a patient a pharmaceutical composition containing as an active component the peptide glutamyl-aspartyl-arginine of the general formula: H-Glu-Asp-Arg-OH of the sequence 1 [SEQ ID NO:1] in the dose 0.01-100 mcg/kg of body mass, once per a day for period necessary for achievement of the therapeutic effect. Invention provides creature of peptide stimulating regeneration of neurons and pharmaceutical composition containing this peptide as an active component. Using this pharmaceutical composition stimulates regeneration of neurons based on recovery of synthesis of tissue-specific proteins, antioxidant effect, normalization of metabolism and bioelectric activity of neurons also.
