FIELD: mechanical engineering; transport engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to shock absorbing devices for damping vertical vibrations of vehicles using gas in chamber with elastic wall. Pneumatic suspension contains main elastic member installed between sprung and unsprung masses and additional elastic member installed inside main elastic member. Additional elastic member is made in form of hollow plunger divided into two spaces by piston. Rod space of plunger is connected by air channel through electropneumatic valve controlled by speed sensor and switching device to feed mass of mass of gas at beginning of each rebound stroke with receiver, and to bleed mass of gas into atmosphere at beginning of each compression stroke. Second space of plunger also communicates with atmosphere through hole in bottom of inner plunger. Rod of piston is secured in cover of main elastic member.
EFFECT: improved damping properties of pneumatic suspension, provision of control of its elastic damping characteristics over entire amplitude frequency range under external action.
