FIELD: ecology.

SUBSTANCE: the present innovation deals with monitoring the characteristics of different ecosystem media due to bioindication techniques and could be applied for obtaining information on the influence of anthropogenic factor upon biotas. The method of bioindication includes isolation of all possible types of populations in mature soldier bugs out of the medium under testing, detection the frequency of occurrence in every population taken out of the medium under testing, variations of P1-melanized picture of soldier bug's anteroback. If the frequency of P1 variation occurrence is established to be 70%, not less the medium under testing should be referred to the first class of quality at low anthropogenic impact; if the frequency of P1 variation occurrence ranges 40%-70% the medium under testing should be referred to the second class of quality at average anthropogenic impact; and if the frequency of P1 variation occurrence is 40%, not higher this medium should be referred to the third class of quality at high anthropogenic impact. The innovation could be applied as quick-test method in case of single inspection and for monitoring the media; it is, also, characterized with its simplicity and briefness of selecting the populations of bioindicators.
