FIELD: antenna engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed variable-electrical-tilt phased antenna array assembly has antenna array 60, divider 44 that functions to divide radio-frequency carrier signal into two signals, phase shifter 46 that introduces variable phase shift between these signals, phase-to-power converter 50 that converts phase-shift signals into signals whose power depends on phase shift, power splitters 52, 54 that split converter signals into two sets of separated signals whose total number equals number of arrays, power-to-phase converters that integrate pairs of separated signals coming from different power splitters 52, 54; in this way certain sum and difference components with appropriate phases are provided for feeding them to respective pair of array antennas equally spaced from array center; phase shift adjustment afforded by phase shifter 46 varies electrical tilt angle of array 60.
EFFECT: ability of varying electrical tilt angle and suppressing side lobes.
