FIELD: foundry, namely production of casting sands, casting molds and cores for making metallic castings.
SUBSTANCE: casting binder contains epoxy resin, acrylate, alkyl ester of aliphatic acid and peroxide as initiator of free radical polymerization. Alkyl group of ester is aliphatic hydrocarbon with 4 - 8 C atoms. Binder is cured at presence of sulfur dioxide. Addition of 1 - 30 mass% of alkyl ester to binder provides accurate size of cores and molds.
EFFECT: improved accuracy of geometry size, lowered fragility of casting cores and molds.
