FIELD: non-ferrous metallurgy, namely metallurgical processes for melting copper and its alloys.

SUBSTANCE: method according to first variant of invention comprises steps of melting charge in furnace with lid and feeding at least through two tuyeres onto surface of melt gaseous oxidizing agent; arranging between said tuyeres frame whose inner surface area consists of 0.3 - 0.5 of surface area of the whole melt; placing refining flux into said frame; when oxygen concentration in metal achieves at least 0.8 mass% interrupting supply of oxidizing agent; raising tuyeres and providing free motion of frame with flux onto surface of melt. According to second variant of invention method comprises steps of melting charge in furnace with lid and feeding to surface of melt at least through one tuyere gaseous oxidizing agent while placing onto melt surface frame whose inner surface area consists of 0.5 - 0.7 of surface area of the whole melt. Or gaseous oxidizing agent is fed to surface of melt arranged inside frame and refining flux is placed onto remaining surface of melt. When oxygen concentration in metal achieves at least 0.8 mass% supply of gaseous oxidizing agent is interrupted; frame and tuyere are raised for distributing flux on the whole surface of melt. Frame may be in the form of hollow cylinder, hollow truncated cone or hollow truncated polyhedral pyramid. Method provides content of metallic impurities of Ni, Zn, Fe, Pb no more than 0.00068 mass% and of Sn - no more than 0.0013 mass%.

EFFECT: improved efficiency of method in comparison with multistage processes due to combination of purification stages from volatile and non-volatile metal impurities.
