FIELD: plastic working of metals, possibly forming different parts.

SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of cutting card from sheet material such as sheet, strip, band or wide coil; blanking card with use of punch and die for forming blank. According to first variant of invention round punch whose diameter exceeds length of card is used for blanking square card and forming blank. According to second variant round punch whose diameter exceeds length of card is used for blanking rectangular card whose length exceeds its width. According to third variant round punch whose diameter exceeds width of card but it is less than length of card is used for blanking rectangular card. According to fourth variant blank is formed from square card by means of punch having cross section in the form of closed or non-closed, regular or irregular polygon with dimensions in directions normal to sides of card exceeding dimensions of card in the same directions. According to fifth variant blank is formed from rectangular card by means of punch having cross section in the form of closed or non-closed, regular or irregular polygon whose dimensions in directions normal to sides of card exceed length and width of that card. According to sixth variant blanks are formed from rectangular card by means of punch having cross section in the form of closed or non-closed, regular or irregular polygon whose dimensions in directions normal to sides of card are more than width of card but less than its length.

EFFECT: enlarged manufacturing possibilities of method, lowered material consumption.
