FIELD: machine engineering, possibly joining parts such as sheet parts by single-side setting of fastening members subjected to plastic deforming.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of placing in opening of parts block cone blank of fastening member. Height of blank is less than height of opening of block; volume of blank is equal to volume of fastening member in force spot of joining. Force spot is created at forming body of fastening member with embedded and closing heads. Body of fastening member and embedded head are pierced. At forming protruded closing head, opening of part block is gradually or stepwise narrowed in piercing direction. At forming embedded head, opening of last part has diameter exceeding that of openings of remaining parts of block. Piercing is realized at direct pressing out of blank material and at simultaneous braking of blank wall relative to wall of opening. Protruded or embedded closing head is formed at upsetting bottom of inner cavity of blank by means of deforming punch while simultaneously supporting at opposite side.
EFFECT: reduced cost price of part joints with improved strength characteristics.
