FIELD: hydro-acoustics, possible use in hydro-acoustic systems for passive detection of hydrobionts and active hydro-acoustic devices.

SUBSTANCE: in the method for processing hydro-acoustic signals with complex modulation law, aside from detection of signals by trajectory following method by center of frequency-time structure of signal, also detection and recognition of hydro-acoustic communication signals, which are unwanted, is performed, because in selected processing algorithm they may be perceived as signals with complex modulation law with following false classification of nonexistent objects. In claimed method, a characteristic of membership of received signal in a certain class is produced from a known set of communication signals. On basis of characteristic of membership in a certain class in the future a prohibition may be introduced for receipt of communication signals for purposes of objects classification.
