FIELD: radio engineering.

SUBSTANCE: distance to the radiating antenna of surveillance radar is determined by measuring the time interval of the scanning beam path of radar antenna as per the measuring base at the known measured scanning (surveillance) period of the radar.

EFFECT: possibility of determining the distance to the radiating antenna of surveillance radar at availability on the carrying object of direction finder of additional receiving station, the antenna of which forms together with direction finder antenna the measuring base the size of which is much smaller than that during implementation of traditional triangulation method for determining the distance.
