FIELD: digital computer engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed pulse counter executes pulse count and subtraction operations, code inversion, separate unit code shift, logical addition and multiplication, concurrent code reception in flip-flops, and zero reset of all flip-flops. Each counter place has one RS flip-flop, four AND gates, three OR gates, four NOT gates, four control buses, and information input. Counter is characterized in ability of forming carry potential before arrival of count pulse, building carry circuit, and constructing place around only one RS flip-flop. Total number of logic-gate inputs of one place equals 28, about 3.5 inputs are in average required per one operation being executed (Quine's price).
EFFECT: enhanced counting speed, enlarged functional capabilities, reduced power requirement at minimal cost of equipment.
