FIELD: aircraft engine building, in particular, couplings for transmitting power from engine shaft to consumer shaft, when said shafts are misaligned.
SUBSTANCE: flexible coupling has two flanges connected with one another by means of clamping fingers and flexible rim consisting in set of disks having cylindrical openings for receiving of fingers. Diameter of arrangement of axes of finger openings provided through disks is greater than diameter of arrangement of finger openings provided through flanges by value restricted by , where δmax is maximum axial tightening of coupling flexible rim during operation due to misalignment of units to be joined, Z is number of fingers on coupling flange, and D is diameter of arrangement of axes of fingers provided in flanges.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability in operation of fingers and coupling disks owing to elimination during operation of rigid power contact of fingers with disks of flexible rim at sites maximally remote from coupling axis due to reduced variable stresses occurred in fingers and disks.
