FIELD: brake technique, in particular, recovery of energy absorbed during braking, more particular, spring brakes for vehicles.
SUBSTANCE: spring brake has first spring-type braking energy accumulator placed in axially aligned relation within cavity of wheel braking drum, clutch having movable half-coupling connected to one end of spring of first accumulator and immovable half-coupling rigidly fixed on wheel axle, and hydraulic drive for movable half-coupling. Spring brake is additionally equipped with second spring-type braking energy accumulator positioned on casing of braking drum, device for adjusting of admissible braking energy, and drive for disconnecting of movable half-coupling. First spring-type energy accumulator is made in the form of flat spiral spring and second spring-type energy accumulator is made in the form of extension springs assembly. Device for adjustment of admissible braking energy is formed as spring tightening mechanism mounted on braking drum casing. Outer end of spring of first energy accumulator is connected with first ends of springs of second energy accumulator and is connected through mechanical drive with movable half-coupling of clutch. Second ends of springs of second energy accumulator are joined through tightening device to drum casing. Spring brake of such construction allows planetary and spherical-screw drive to be eliminated.
EFFECT: increased efficiency by providing the possibility of adjusting braking force in order to eliminate the probability of full stop of vehicle wheels in case of emergency braking.
