FIELD: hydraulic structures, particularly dams to be erected in severe climatic conditions.
SUBSTANCE: method involves forming main construction line along downstream side base outline; preparing dam base and freezing thereof by snow removal from dam base for a long period; creating dam body members in direction from main construction line to upstream side of loose supercooled ground in several layers having thicknesses of up to 2.5 m along with each layer compaction with the use of vibrorollers or by other methods; laying elastic impervious member from upstream dam side in late winter when temperature is not less than -20°; joining impervious member with dam base through tooth; creating protective layer before spring tide period takes place; consolidating upstream dam face with rock-fill or other means.
EFFECT: decreased construction time and reduced labor inputs.
