FIELD: analytical chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for determination of potassium concentration in grape wines by capillary electrophoresis method and the following analysis of electrophoretic pattern. Analysis of the electrophoretic pattern is carried out by the mass concentration of potassium and range of the quantitative content of potassium determining the wine quality is defined. Additionally, the ash content is determined in a wine sample and the ratio of ash content to the potassium mass concentration is calculated. Assay of wine quality is carried out by comparison of the potassium mass concentration and the ash content ratio to the potassium mass concentration in the range 400-1100 mg/dm3 and (1.8:1)-(2.2:1). This provides enhancing objectivity and reliability in defining the quality of natural grape wines in comparison with the known methods.
