FIELD: structures or apparatus for, or methods of, protecting banks, coasts or harbours.
SUBSTANCE: method involves creating water streams opposite to tsunami wave propagation in areas subjected to tsunami action. The water streams are created by turning of tsunami front velocity vector through 180° in 
-shaped tunnels in separate tsunami areas. The tunnels are installed along shore line so that tunnel orifices are transversal thereto.
EFFECT: decreased damage caused by tsunami reaching island and continent shore line.
