FIELD: waste water treatment processes.
SUBSTANCE: aim of invention is treatment of waste waters to remove suspended particles in municipal economy enterprises, and use in purification of storm precipitations, in gold ore industry, paper-and-pulp industry, metallurgy, mining, petroleum and petrochemical industries, water economies, and power industry. Treatment is accomplished by bioflocculation using as bioflocculant suspension of algae in amount of 1 wt part dry algae per 6-60 wt parts suspended particles in waste water, after which alga precipitate loaded with suspended materials is settled. Alga cells are preliminarily treated to create charge on their surface by way of maintaining pH 4-9 and adding, as modifier, multiple-charge ion capable of being sorbed on the surface of alga cells, which multiple-charge ion, in particular, may be maleic acid/styrene copolymer, a polymer, or a protein.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency and stability of operation, and improved quality of removing suspended particles from aqueous media in large volumes at lower cost.
