FIELD: radionuclide separation.
SUBSTANCE: invention aiming at obtaining pure radionuclide strontium-89 proposes a method to separate the latter from yttrium, which method comprises precipitation of strontium-89 with carrier, namely yttrium-alkali metal double sulfates obtained by adding alkali metal sulfates to solution in quantities not less than 0.1 mole/L, followed by addition of ethanol to end concentration at least 50% by volume. Resulting precipitate is separated from mother liquor and washed.
EFFECT: reduced degree of strontium-89 recovery and reduced percentage of yttrium impurities in the separated product.
