FIELD: technology for measuring and managing parameters of technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: device for diagnostics and communication (a tool) is made with possible automatic recognition of connection to control contour by a technological process, and also with possible recognition of type of contour, to which it is connected, without causing substantial disruption to message exchange in the contour. After the tool determines type of contour, to which it is connected, it ensures proper communication and diagnostics, corresponding to given certain type.
EFFECT: simplified service of devices for controlling technological processes.
