FIELD: instrument making.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to diagnosis of field devices. Disclosed is a method of interacting with a process control system, method comprising steps of bringing a personal field tool into physical proximity of a field device; coupling personal field tool to a digital process communication channel of field device; initiating a client software application on personal field tool; and using digital process communication channel to communicatively couple client software application to a resource management application remote from both personal field tool and field device.
EFFECT: technical result is possibility of controlling access to factory medium at industrial networks, as well as possibility of starting client application by means of portable field tool, which establishes communication with a host application.
