FIELD: medicine, neurology.
SUBSTANCE: it is necessary to introduce needles into area of affected joints due to posterior-lateral paravertebral access. The needles should be introduced under the control of ultrasound survey, per 2 from each side. Electrodes should be fixed to the needles so that current flow to be parallel against vertebral column. In case of acute pains one should affect with electric current at current frequency ranged 80-100 Hz, in case of chronic pains - 40-60 Hz. Current power corresponds to about 4-20 mA, impulse duration - 0.5-0.7 msec, duration of the procedure -15-30 min every other day, about 8-10 procedures/course. The innovation increases the efficiency of therapy due to increased accuracy of local impact.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of therapy.
