FIELD: engineering of devices which use electro-hydraulic effect, in particular, means which control high-voltage discharge in these devices.

SUBSTANCE: the device is practically realized on a farm remote from centralized water preparation system in a plant for disinfecting water with high voltage electric discharge. Device for disinfecting water with high voltage electric discharge contains a high voltage power block, accumulating capacitor, electrodes creating a generating gap in electric discharge circuit, ignition electrode placed in generating gap, working discharger, block which generates multi-period ignition impulse, control block, which generates adjustable control impulse, which controls frequency of injection of multi-period ignition impulse into ignition electrode, a throttle included in electric discharge circuit in parallel to working discharger with conductivity which is opposite relatively to direction of discharge current.

EFFECT: twice increased productivity of device with identical electric energy costs, increased stability of technological process of water disinfection; increased reliability of operation and service life of device.
